DIRECTIONS

Easiest way is to travel to the Sheraton is by transit to Union Station

Walk west on Front Street to York Street 

Turn right onto York Street

Take York Street up to Richmond Street 

The Sheraton is on your right.


DIRECTIONS FROM THE LOBBY OF HOTEL: You can either take Richmond elevators to 2nd floor and hang a right- Ballroom is all the way to the back OR take escalators to 2nd level and hang a right- follow signage provided by Sheraton.


PARKING

If you are parking at hotel it is valet only and the motor court access is located off of Richmond street and Queen Street.  Valet is $52

 

City Hall Parking is over half the price and is located off of Queen and Bay.  Sheraton Centre is attached to the City Hall underground and you can follow the signs into the hotel to the concourse level- from there they can take the escalators to the 2nd floor



Our 2nd annual International Women's Day event is tomorrow


Please join us for a morning of education and networking, as we celebrate International Women's Day, March 4th 2020 from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM.


We will feature Shannon Lee Simmons, founder/owner of Toronto's advice-only financial planning practice - The New School Finance. She won the 2014 Notable Award for Best In Finance and appears regularly as a financial expert in the media, contributing to the Toronto Star's 'Money Makeover', Cityline, BBC Capital and is host of Coral TV's, 'Money Awesomeness'.


We will also feature a panel of women in the industry who will share their stories, successes, lessons, and experiences.

 

Last year we sold out a month early, so this year we are moving to a bigger venue, The Sheraton Centre Hotel in Toronto's Financial Core.

Shannon Lee Simmons 
CATHERINE WOOD – CFP, CLU, MISt., ICD.D Catherine Wood is the Chief Strategy Officer at Coast Capital Savings. She oversees the company-wide strategy and brand for Coast Capital Savings with a focus on improving the financial well-being for members and supporting its national expansion as one of the first federally incorporated credit unions.  Catherine has a full and far-reaching executive experience in the financial services, including leading strategy, wealth management and award-winning digital platforms. Most recently, she served as Senior VP, Head Online and Digital Wealth and Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer for Aviso Wealth, one of Canada’s largest independent wealth management providers. Prior to that, she held executive and senior management roles at Qtrade, TD Bank and Assante. Catherine earned an MBA as well as a Masters of Information Studies from the University of Toronto. She holds an Honours BA from York University and a BA from Western University. Beyond her academic credentials, her professional designations include Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Tax and Estate Practitioner (TEP) and Certified Health Specialist (CHS). SHANNON LEE SIMMONS - is an award winning Certified Financial Planner, speaker, Chartered Investment Manager, author and founder of the New School of Finance. Her two books, Worry-Free Money and Living Debt-Free are best sellers. She is a personal finance writer for the Globe and Mail as well as CBC Radio’s Metro Morning money columnist and financial expert on The Marilyn Denis Show.


SARA LA GAMBA - CFP, CLU, CHS, TEP Sara is an Associate Advisor at Sheffar Potter Muchan Inc. She became a financial advisor in 2009 after graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Her passion for financial planning goes hand-in-hand with her strong desire to help her clients achieve their financial goals. She joined the business with Freedom 55 Financial. She became President of King Financial and Benefits Inc in 2012 and joined the team at Sheffar Potter Muchan in 2018. Learning has been a life-long passion for Sara and education continues to play an integral role in her professional journey and development. She holds the CHS (2011), CFP (2014), CLU (2014), and TEP (2016) designations and is currently working towards the CEBS designation. Sara is a proud and enthusiastic member of Advocis. It's a membership she holds with great pride since the time she joined the association in the early days of her career. During that time, she began volunteering with The Institute of Advanced Financial Education. She currently chairs the Standards and Accreditation Committee, sits on the Awards committee and is a member of the Advocis Legal Regulatory Policy committee. She is a trustee and treasurer for The Institute. She played a key role in her local Advocis chapter, joining the board in 2012 and serving as Toronto Chapter President from 2015-2017.  

Sara lives in London with her husband Nathan and son Jackson. She enjoys golfing, skiing, volleyball, and cycling in her free time.
