Advocis Members put Clients First
As an Advocis member, you are part of a long-standing tradition of professionals who have made it a priority to voluntarily hold themselves accountable. By agreeing to the principles of the Advocis Code of Professional Conduct (CPC), you commit to upholding a standard that protects advisors and clients alike.
As part of its mission, The Financial Advisors Association of Canada “enhances the professionalism of financial advisors and planners in the best interest of the consumer”.
At the recent AGM, Advocis members voted overwhelmingly in favour of an enhanced CPC that moved the long-established tenet priority of client’s interest to the number one position. Advocis members have aligned themselves with this mission, recognizing that their level of professionalism is dependent upon their ability to put clients first.
Advocis, then called the Life Underwriters Association of Canada (LUAC), was the first organization of life underwriters to formally develop a code of ethical practices. In keeping with a tradition established as far back as 1961, every member of Advocis agrees to abide by the CPC and related disciplinary procedures.
The Advocis CPC, like all professional codes of conduct upheld by good governance, policy and standards, is reviewed periodically for relevance and consistent application.
The new CPC is now available on the Advocis website.
