May 28, 2024 – Brent van Ryzewyk, CFP, CLU, CH.F.C., CHS, CEA and Kevin R Williams, CFP, CLU, RHU are your 2024 J.G. Taylor Award winners as announced at the 2024 CALU Conference & AGM!
An annual award that is celebrated and dates all the way back to 2014, the J.G. Taylor is awarded to candidates who have impacted the profession and the public they serve; exemplified The Institute for Advanced Financial Education’s Code of Professional Conduct; had a positive impact on the community as a whole; and participated in the industry, either with The Institute or Advocis, and/or within other professions in the financial services industry.
Coincidentally, both Brent and Kevin began their professional journeys with Advocis over 40 years ago in 1984, and have served in a variety of roles across our association, including Board of Directors, local Chapter Boards and various stakeholder committees.
Speaking of Brent, our Advocis Peel-Halton Chapter says – “We often allude to him as the backbone of our Chapter. His dedication and relentless pursuit in making our chapter more efficient year after year and providing the very best to our members is second to none! We appreciate and love you for all you do for us, and for Canadian families and businesses all over the country! Nobody deserves this more than you!”
Shannon Tatlock, an 11+ year Member of Advocis & the daughter of Kevin Williams also commented on the announcement saying… “Dad is the epitome of this award and he is such a deserved winner. If I wrote his resume, from his contributions to Advocis, Sun Life, MDRT and to his fellow Advisors, the hours he’s spent for the betterment of Advisors and this professions would be in the 1000s. Always willing to have a conversation, he loves this profession and his 40+ years of experience is a testament to that. Congratulations Dad, I hope to be half the Advisor you are!”
