Home Advocacy Government Relations 2019 Newfoundland and Labrador Legislature Day
On Wednesday, November 6, 2019 Advocis will be holding a Legislature Day at The House of Assembly in St. John’s.
In March, the Government of Ontario passed The Financial Professionals Title Protection Act, which received support from both sides of their Legislature. Now is the time to encourage Newfoundland and Labrador’s MHAs to #RaiseTheBar by mirroring that approach.
Legislature Days are an integral part of our lobbying and advocacy efforts to politicians and key government officials on important issues that financial advisors and their clients face.
The Legislature Day will incorporate a series of meetings that Advocis members set with their MHAs in advance, an opportunity to sit in the legislature during Question Period, and attend an evening reception hosted by Advocis.
Legislature Days are only effective if efforts are made to seek meetings with MHAs and/or their staffers.
