Business Transition with Garth Stephanson

Former CEO of Stegg Limited, in Belleville, for 32 years, a company with 100 team members that peaked at $15M in trade sales.  He knew it was time to move on and will share his emotional turmoil of accepting transition, methodically preparing the anticipated requested data, finding a buyer, establishing valuation, and selecting their advisor exit team.

It’s a colourful and information loaded presentation designed for accountants, lawyers, estate planners, financial professionals, and owners/partners of mid-cap companies thinking of selling within the next 10 years.  His theory is “Sell the peanut wagon while the circus is in town”.

Garth has served as chairman, president, or board member of a number of Quinte area organizations including Rotary, Albert College, QHC, Police Services, Cemetery, Cheshire Home, and his school’s 25 anniversary reunion.  Through the Canadian Association of Family Business, he has been a current and active member of his PAG group for 29 years, meeting with 12 mid-cap owner/managers of Ontario family businesses every eight weeks to discuss life issues in common.
