Approved Designations

The following is a list of approved designations that Advocis considers suitable to be used towards the maintenance of your Advocis membership. Designations must be maintained in good standing with their respective accrediting body in order to be used towards maintenance of your Advocis membership requirements.

 

Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®)

The Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation has been widely recognized for 90 years as a superior mark of excellence in the financial services industry. CLU designation holders are regarded as elite professional financial advisors who raise the bar in developing effective solutions for individuals, business owners, and professionals in the areas of risk management, wealth creation and preservation, estate planning, and wealth transfer.

 

Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS)

The Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS) designation was established in 2011 by The Institute for Advanced Financial Education (The Institute™) to raise the bar on professional standards and practice methods of financial advisors in the health insurance sector, and to provide designation holders with expertise in this specialized field.

 

Chartered Financial Consultant (CH.F.C)

The Chartered Financial Consultant (CH.F.C) designation is a financial planning designation that specializes in wealth accumulation and retirement planning. A CH.F.C. designation holder is an expert in retirement planning and capital accumulation strategies.

 

Professional Financial Advisor (PFA)

The Professional Financial Advisor (PFA) designation was created to meet the everyday demands of the professional advisor. With practice-based training in a real-world environment, the PFA focuses on practice development, technical knowledge and compliance & ethics to help newer advisors get a successful head start while also empowering existing advisors to fine-tune the primary building blocks of their business.

 

Certified Financial Planner (CFP®)

The Certified Financial Planner® designation provides assurance to Canadians that the design of their financial future rests with a professional who will put their clients’ interests ahead of their own.

 

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®)

The CFA designation provides a strong foundation in advanced investment analysis and real-world portfolio management skills.

 

Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®)

The CIM designation provides advanced money management strategies that best serve affluent and institutional clients.

 

Family Enterprise Advisors (FEA)

The FEA™ designation will reinforce your standing and expertise in this growing sector of the business world and help you bring family focused and thoughtful solutions to the family table.

 

Personal Financial Planner (PFP®)

The PFP® designation provides advisors with the tools to develop more robust financial plans by effectively managing all aspects of a client’s financial situation including: insurance, investments, retirement, estate planning and tax strategy.

 

Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP)

The TEP designation is an internationally recognized hallmark of professional expertise in the area of trusts and estates.

 

PI.fin

The PI.fin helps advisors optimize your financial situation and your assets by laying out a strategic action plan that is wholly adapted to your needs and that takes your constraints and personal goals into account.

 

Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP™)

QAFP professionals have demonstrated the knowledge, skills, experience and ethics to provide holistic financial planning strategies and solutions for average Canadians with typical financial planning needs.

 

Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS®)

The premier designation in benefits and pensions, considered the standard of excellence in the industry.The CEBS designation delivers professional expertise supported by researched-based best practices with curriculums developed by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Dalhousie University.
