The Advocis Code of Professional Conduct (CPC) sets out the principles that Advocis Members are expected to abide by in their business activities and when liaising between clients and suppliers of financial and insurance products or services. Explanatory notes are available that provide a more in-depth explanation of each principle within the Advocis Code of Professional Conduct (CPC).
Any person may file a Request for Investigation (RFI) against an Advocis member. We must receive a written submission in order to initiate disciplinary procedures. Any person seeking to file a Request for Investigation may do so by completing the standard RFI form or submitting a formal letter outlining the issue.
To ensure that Advocis Members conduct their actions in accordance with the Advocis Code of Professional Conduct, The Institute has written procedures to follow when an Advocis member’s professional conduct is in question.
The Institute Disciplinary Procedures are based on a peer review system. The Disciplinary Procedures are in place to provide a consistent and transparent process for determining the facts and imposing sanctions for conduct found to be unbecoming of the Advocis Code of Professional Conduct.
