- About Us
Advocis has been the strongest voice for financial advisors with federal and provincial governments on public policy and regulatory issues for over 100 years. Through the work of chapter volunteers, committees, and Advocis staff, we represent the interests of financial advisors, while maintaining the utmost concern for the public interest.
For over 50 years, Advocis Schools have provided financial services professionals with premier learning and networking opportunities in some of the most beautiful locations in Canada. Each Advocis School is unique — from the line up of outstanding industry-leading guest speakers to the exciting evening social events.
The goal of the Advocis Broker Services (ABS) is to facilitate the provision of superior coverage to financial advisors and planners through our insuring partners that is comprehensive, sustainable and stable in pricing.
The ABS program is one of the largest E&O insurance programs available to financial advisors. ABS manages partner relationships between brokers, underwriters and claims managers, to ensure the best possible conditions.
The ABS E&O program offers sustainable insurance, even as insurers withdraw from the E&O market amid economic uncertainty.
Lifelong learning is an integral part of the financial services profession in Canada. Advocis members have access to discounted Institute-accredited education programs delivered through our 40 chapters – programs recognized by regulators as meeting and exceeding the needs of today’s financial advisors and planners. Advocis offers continuing education opportunities through the annual Update seminars. Advocis also offers year-round discounted or complimentary webinars to members and discounted education through our Education partners.
Individuals who are affiliated with an Advocis Corporate Sponsor and join Advocis as a new member are entitled to discounts on products and services provided by Advocis. In addition, individuals associated with a Corporate Sponsor can in some cases receive discounts and/or rebates on programs leading towards the LLQP or receiving designations such as the CLU®, CHS™, and PFA™.
As a financial advisor or planner, the ability to establish trust by providing your credentials to clients in a digitally-verifiable format is more important than ever!
With online badges from Credly, a quick and convenient record of your Advocis membership and Institute designation(s) will always be available!
Advocis promotes the value of our designations and financial advisors’ professionalism to stakeholders, regulators, elected officials and the public at large.
Advocis offers challenging programs that lead towards the following accreditations:
Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®)
Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS)
Professional Financial Advisor (PFA™)
